Snoqualmie was incorporated in 1903 as a small agricultural town. Today, Snoqualmie has developed in other economic sectors due to the growth from neighboring towns around the Seattle area and also growth from tourism. Snoqualmie has historically been noted for its limited growth due to its location in the floodplains and regulations that limit residential construction in flood prone areas. However, since the annexation of 1300 acres of undeveloped land out of the floodplains in the 1990s, Snoqualmie’s population has significantly increased. In fact, Snoqualmie’s population is expected to triple within the next 10 years.
