Shoreline was incorporated in 1995, which makes it one of King County’s newest cities. Before its incorporation, Shoreline was an island of unincorporated King County surrounded by Seattle, Edmonds, Woodway and Lake Forest Park in the top western portion of King County.
It is located close to huge metropolitan cities, such as Seattle, which is just 15 miles north of the city. Shoreline is currently the 15th largest city in the state with a population of 53,000 residents. It is largely considered as a residential community with 70% of households being single family residences however many businesses have moved into the city in recent years. Shoreline combines both urban business opportunities with suburban convenience and comfort with many beaches and parks and beautiful views of the Puget Sound and the surrounding mountain ranges.
