Renton is Washington State’s 13th largest city and King County’s 6th largest city with a population of about 55,360. The city was incorporated in 1901 and has a total land area of about 10,507 acres (17 square miles). Aside from being known as a growing urban center, Renton is also a nice residential area with views of the Olympic Mountains, the Cascade Mountain range and also Mount Rainier. The Cedar river also runs through the downtown area. The area is attractive to businesses and residents because it is conveniently located 16 minutes from downtown Seattle and downtown Bellevue, 6 miles northeast of Sea-Tac International Airport, 3 hours from both Vancouver, British Columbia and Portland, Oregon. It is also located near 3 interstate highways and 4 state highways.
One of the major projects currently under development is the Harvest Partners’ Lakeshore Landing Project. 46 acres of former Boeing property is being developed north of downtown Renton. When finished the project will house over 800,000 square feet worth of retail, theater, restaurant spaces and 850 housing units.

Renton is also an attractive place to live due to its proximity to major cities. It is also a nice residential community with many different activities for the city’s residents. In downtown Renton, new amenities, such as the newly renovated pavilion, performing arts center, parking garage and new aquatic center offer residents many different activities. Renton also produces one of the most educated workforce populations in the nation. Residents are serviced by six 4-year colleges and universities, eight community and technical colleges and a great number of private schools within the city’s 25 mile radius.
