Orignally incorporated as "Tolt" in 1912, Carnation was renamed in 1951. The city combines a beautiful rural environment with close proximity to urban growth centers (30 minutes from Bellevue). Other positive features include an abundant water supply and responsive local government.

It is within close proximity of many urban growth centers. Seattle and Bellevue are located about 30 miles east of Carnation and Redmond is located 15 miles east. Seattle, Belelvue and Redmond can be accessed through the State Route 203 highway, which also runs through the Snoqualmie Valley. The city is about 1.2 square miles in size with around 1,905 residents. Even with a rapid development rate, Carnation has been able to maintain its small town feel. |
